Haven’t we heard this one before? Sony claims that their new proprietary memory for the new PSVITA is an attempt to level the playing field for players by ensuring that all memory is the same speed. That and of course security concerns.
When are they going to learn? All that they are going to do is create another market for bootlegging hardware, adapters, cheap knockoffs, etc. I just don’t get it. I understand that the security concerns are real, but I have yet to see a proprietary piece of hardware stop piracy. I am not suggesting that they shouldn’t try, but a new memory card is just a way to sell a bunch of cards produced by Sony before the knockoffs hit the streets.
How long after release do you think it will be before an adapter comes out? Or some kind of flash cart? Weeks? Days? We will see.
